Natural
Family Planning Outreach was formally begun in 1996 when Fr. Daniel McCaffrey, a retired
missionary, military chaplain, and former chaplain of the Pope Paul VI Institute at
Creighton University Medical School, began to travel worldwide educating the public about
the Church's teaching on birth control. Though organized as a non-profit ministry in the
Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the mission of Natural Family Planning Outreach has not been
limited to any one parish, diocese, state or country.
Father
McCaffrey offers a variety of seminars and parish missions which are adaptable to the
needs of the parish or audience. During the typical mission at a Catholic parish, Fr.
McCaffrey will preach at all of the weekend Masses and invite parishioners to a Sunday
afternoon seminar. At the seminar, Fr. McCaffrey discusses Church teaching on marriage and
family life. Following his presentation, a physician gives an overview of Natural Family
Planning. If time permits, an NFP user couple may make a presentation as well. A question
and answer session follows and those who are interested in learning NFP are directed to
local teachers and resources. A videotape of Father's sermon and seminar is available.
